Chapter 2: My Name Is....

Chapter 2: My Name Is...

She walked, stumbled, tripped, and rolled down the snowy mountain as she made her way to some kind of civilization unknown to her. The girl huffed and shivered and hid in corners while the wind was blowing at its greatest. There were very few monsters and the only thing she had with her was a few knives, her shruiken completely in ruins.
"Brrr... I hate the cold. I hate th-the snow. I hate the wind. I'm cold, I'm wet, I'm frost-bitten an-an-and..."
The girl complained as she walked quickly towards an area that seemed full of tents and banners, and an odd looking tribe of some sort.
"I hope someb-body can help me there." She groaned as she finally reached the populated area and slowly sank to her knees nearby a pole. She sat there to catch her breath until someone spotted her and slowly began approaching her. The person she saw wasn't exactly a person. They stood up on two feet, but they were covered in blue fur, and they had a very lion-esque face. The girl swallowed hard and slowly scooted away from the creature approaching her, until she hit a rock wall. She whimpered and bit her lip wondering whether or not she should reach for one of her knives.
The person that approached her was very tall and muscular, and although his fur was blue, he wore colorful clothing, decorated with beads and different strings, and he held a large spear. The lion-like person knelt down and tilted their head.
"Are you... okay?" The person spoke in a deep voice with a careful tone, as if they were making sure they were saying the right thing.
"I... I... I... I'm c-cold!" The girl quickly tucked her head beneath her hands, hiding from the person.
"My name... is Kimahri. Who are you?"
The girl slowly looked up with nearly tear-filled eyes and she sniffed and straightened her features.
"My name is Yuffie Kisaragi, the single white rose of Wutai!" She grinned excitedly, and quickly remembering how cold she was, she sank back into herself and shivered.
"Yu-Yuffie. Yuffie from...Wutai. Come, I have home for you." He extended a large paw out to her and Yuffie carefully examined it.
"W-wow... home? Warm? Just... don't hurt me... I just got through fighting Sephiroth and a bunch of little monsters so I'm in no shape to really fight" Yuffie slowly grasped the large paw and was picked up by Kimahri, and he led her to the tents.

"How... much... more... lightning?" Vincent stumbled and groaned through a long path that was filled with nothing but darkness, thunder, and lightning. Being struck by lightning a few times didn't kill him, but he was certainly getting tired of it. From behind him, he heard the faint sounds of barking dogs running towards him and a man calling out orders. He stopped and waited by the side of the road for them to pass, but when the appraching party spotted him, the carriage slowly came to a stop and the occupants looked at Vincent.
Vincent did his best to instantly hide his claw beneath his cloak away from his observants, all the while paying attention to the actions of the blue haired people that came to watch him. Suddenly he remembered that being in one place for too long could be dangerous for him, and soon enough, he was struck by a small lightning bolt. The party of four gasped and three of them immediately ran to his aid, yet paused when they noticed when Vincent was still standing and conscious.
"My... that is remarkable. Why if you were one of us, or completely human for that matter, you would have been burned to a crisp." The fourth man spoke in the carriage, slowly emerged from it, and carefully walked towards Vincent. He was about his height though slightly larger with muscle, and his hair was the wildest of blue Vincent has ever seen. Vincent softly cleared his throat and began to back away from the four when the largest man raised a hand and paused in his steps.
"Sir, we do not mean you any harm. I... We wish to aid you. Where might you be going to?"
Vincent cautiously examined each individual before allowing himself to feel comfortable enough to give them any information. "... I... honestly, I do not know."
"Well sir, if you like, you may come with us. We won't kidnap you, I promise. We were just passing through running an errand, and now we are all through. We have plenty of time to help you figure out your way. Why... how did you get here?" The tall blue haired man spoke.
"I... don't know. I was sucked away from the lifestream and into some portal, and fell in the middle of... here. I cannot find any of my companions, nor my gun."
"Currently you are in the Thunder Plains, notorious for... lightning storms, as you may have noticed. Up north is where Macalania Woods are, and south is where my home and the Farplane Ruins lie."
Vincent sighed and looked in both directions. "Well.. I am not sure what to expect in either direction alone, I suppose my best option is to come along with you."
The other man smiled genuinely. "Sure! And I have been known to be quite hospitable, if you don't mind me saying such. So, if you need a bed, food, or simple necessities, I'm sure I have them available, or I can arrange for someone to obtain whetever it is you seek. By the way, I am Seymour Guado, leader of the Guado people in Guadosalam."
Vincent slowly walked towards Seymour and nodded kindly. "I thank you. I do not wish to be of any trouble to you, but as soon as my energy is replenished, I shall be off to find my companions."
Seymour chuckled softly. "You won't be a single bit of trouble, dear traveller. My men also wouldn't mind helping you to find your companions when you are ready to move on."
Vincent's cheeks showed that he had just smiled beneath his cloak, and he lightly bowed to Seymour. "I am very thankful for your help, and when all is well, I will be sure to repay you for what you have done."
Seymour waved his hand in dismissal and slowly turned towards the carriage as his eyes were still focused on Vincent as much as he could before turning completely away from him. "No need, I do this out of pure kindness. Come along now."
The three Guado had waited until Seymour was seated into the carriage before offering Vincent to enter before they had. He smile again and accepted, briskly entering the carriage and sitting next to Seymour. The others had finally entered the carriage, and soon they were on their way to Guadosalam. Seymour could not contain his joy during the trip as he had smiled the entire time, yet Vincent remained as neutral as ever until Seymour turned to him and whispered something to him.
"I will warn you... you may want to avoid the Farplane Ruins. Even though it is a tourist attraction now, it just appears to be in ruins, and the Farplane will still take those who have been destined to go."
Vincent turned to him with an alarmed expression on his face and gasped. "What do you mean?"
Seymour shook his head and smiled softly. "I mean, if you wish to continue existing long enough to find your companions, I would avoid that area." Seymour sat back and inhaled deeply. "You know his original intention was to end your life. Even through reanimation and the stasis and the fact that your soul still resides in your mostly living body, you are still dead."
Vincent swallowed hard and slowly looked away from Seymour and scoffed. 'It's times like this when I wish I had my gun. Though... how does he...'
"Those four inside of you could bring the same doom upon us that was once inevitable as Sin had. Never allow them unsupervised control." Seymour spoke softly as he looked ahead towards their destination. Vincent bit his lip as he fought back a groan in the hopes of throwing Seymour off from the fact of how much he had said was true. He let out a soft sigh and kept his attention away from Seymour as he spoke.
"What do you think you know about me?" Vincent whispered. Seymour smiled and sat proudly in his seat, and cleared his throat and spoke at a normal level.
"Well, after all of that, I never got your name good sir."
Vincent clenched his jaw tightly and turned around to glare at Seymour, and Seymour winked at him in response. Vincent scoffed and rested his chin against his hand.
"Vincent Valentine, ex Turk Commander."
Seymour smiled and chuckled as the carriage slowed down. "Will you be adding 'hero' to your resume as well? I know I certainly have."
Vincent raised an eyebrow in confusion. 'Just how much does this man know?'
Seymour waved in dismissal and smiled. "Well... that's another story that will be served at a later time. But for now, we have finally reached Guadosalam."

(Author's Note: Of course, to be continued... Anyway, I wanna have some fun with pairings! Tell me who you wanna see hook up in this fanfic and I just might do it! The pairings are mostly gonna be based off what you want, so review! I love reviews, they are food for my fanfiction soul! And major win and candy goes out to my first reviewer, thank you so much! As for all that information being crammed into the first chapter, I only did that to give a little hint to the reader of how the setting in the FFX world is like in this story so that way confusion is cleared up in the beginning. I could have done this another way to make the plot a little richer later on, but I have other interesting experimental plans. Like the possibility of Baralai, Gippal, and Nooj showing up somewhere. Should they? Tell me what you want! [/note])
