Chapter 4: The Field

Chapter Four: The Field Test
Somehow he got to his desk without anyone noticing his hard-on and turned on his computer. And got ready for the test.
“Ok class after tomorrow night I will no longer be with you as your Instructor.” The class groans loudly. “But don’t let that keep you from passing this test to become a member of SeeD.” Squall announced. “And you may begin.”
After Tidus finished he turned off his computer and just sat there waiting for his hard-on, that he still had through out his test, to go down.
(Dammit why does this have to happen to me? I always get one when I am around Squall.) Tidus thought. “I must be cursed!” He screamed in his head or so he thought. Squall was looking straight at him with a very confused look. That look sent Tidus over and he blushed a very deep red.
“Why do you think you are cursed Tidus?” Squall asked.
“Cred! Cuuno.” Tidus apologized.
“Tidus could you come here please?”
Tidus got up and went over to Squall.
“What did you just say?”
“I said ‘Shit! Sorry’”
“But I did not know you spoke Al Bhed. And how do you know Al Bhed? And how do you know Al Bhed? It is a very old language.” Squall asked.
“One of the tems I’ve played against taught me their language so I guess they were Al Bhed as you say.”
“Well we have been trying to get one of the Al Bhed to come to the Garden so we can help them but they won’t come with us. Because we don’t speak Al Bhed. Just don’t let anyone hear you speak Al Bhed around here, Ok?”
“Sure I can do that.” And with that Tidus left the classroom, his hardon completely forgotten. (I hate it when I do that. I need to quit talking to myself.) He made a mental note.

*Later on that same day Tidus found out that he had passed the test and went to Squall to find out what he had to do next.*
“Well we need to get you a GF before the field test. I will let you use one of mine. Here is Ifrit, the fire GF.” Squall said as he handed what looked like a sphere full of fire to Tidus. “Just think of bringing the power you feel in that stone in your head. It is called Junctioning. By Junctioning you improve your stats.”
“Ok I will try to.” Tidus said slightly afraid of what would happen.
So Tidus thought hard about pulling the power he felt in the sphere into his head. And it hit him like a ton of bricks. The wind got knocked out of him and he passed out.
“Tidus, Tidus are you ok? Tidus answer me!” Squall screamed.
When Tidus woke up he was in the Infirmary [again] with a massive headache. “Cred so rayt rindc.” [Shit my head hurts.] Tidus complained. He then got hit in the arm by Squall.
“I thought I told you to stop speaking in Al Bhed.”
“Sorry bad habit.”
“Ok I forgive you this time. Oh and by the way you will have a big headache for awhile.”
“Yea I noticed thanks for the warning.”
“Sorry. Other than a headache how do you feel?”
“Fine I guess.”
“Good then come with me it is time for the field test. And you can keep Ifrit. Shiva, the ice GF, is more my type of GF.”
“Thanks.”
Squall lead Tidus out of Balamb Garden and back to Besaid Village. When they got there Squall stopped and Tidus almost bumped into him.
“Why did you stop?”
“Because your field test is different from the other candidates. You will be coming with me and the other Guardians to protect her while she becames a summoner.”
“Ok.”
They meet up with Lulu outside the temple.
“Hey Squall, is he a SeeD yet?”
“Nope but he is taking his final test now.”
“But he is standing right here.”
“I know it is a field test Lulu.”
“…..”[Tidus lost in thought. Hee Hee]
“Oh ok shall we go in and het Yuna now?”
“Yea.”
“….” [Still nost in his thoughts Squall in the same room as him. Hee Hee I am just evil.]
So they went inside and found Yuna praying at a statue.
“Yuna are you ready?” Lulu asked her.
“Yea I guess so.”
So they headed for the Cloister of Trails. They walked through the door and came straight to a dead end or so they thought.
“I wonder where we go from here.” Lulu asked.
“Touch the glyph?” Tidus guessed.
“Glyph like this one.” Yuna pointed out.
“Yea that one.”
So Yuna touched the glyph and jumped back as part of the wall raised up into the ceiling.
“How did you know that?” Yuna asked.
“I didn’t I just took a wild guess.”
After that it only took them 20 minutes to get though the trails. [With Tidus’ help of course.] In the end they ended up in a big room with a shield up at the top of some stairs.
“I must go in there alone.” Yuna stated.
“Ok we will be right here waiting for you.” Lulu said
Yuna went into the room and started to pray to the Fayth.
“How long does it take to get an aeon?” Tidus asked.
“It all depends on the summoner and the Fayth.” Luu said. “Some have been known not to come back out for years.”
“I don’t think anyone has seen the aeon of Baja remple in over 50 years or so they say.” Squall said.
“I wonder why?”
“Don’t know some people say it is sealed for some reason.”
“Enough talking for now we might be distracting Yuna.” Lulu said.
“Ok” Both Tidus and Squall said blushing.
After four hours of waiting the silence was broken by the sound of the shield moving and Yuna standing at the top of the stairs drenched in sweat and staggering. She started down the stairs and started to fall bout the third step. Tidus ran up the steps and caught her on the fouth step and started to blush a little red.
“I am fine. Dryhg oui [Thank you] Tidus.”
“Ouin famlusa [Your welcome] Yuna.”
“Tidus.” Squall said giving him a look that could kill. “Youna I am trying to get Tidus to stop that habit, and youy need to stop too if you don’t want trouble down the road.” Squall scolded.
“Sorry Squall.” They said together.
“But since you saved Yuna from falling too much I will forgive you this time.”
At that Tidus blushed a deeper red but only Lulu noticed this.
They all left the temple and went into the town square to tell the villagers.
“I have become a summoner.” Yuna said proudly. Everyone in the village cheered.
“I will leave tomorrow to go on my pilgrimage.”
After 30 minutes of the party the villagers were throwing for Yuna, Squall came up to her and said. “I have to take Tidus back to Garden so I can turn in the results for his test to the headmaster.”
“If he becomes a member of SeeD will you put in my request to have him come with you?”
“Yes I can do that.” (But he will be mine not yours Lady Yuna.)
Squall and Tidus arrived back at Balamb Garden Tidus suddenly stop walking.
“What is the matter Tidus?”
“What is the purpose of Yuna going on a pilgrimage to get aeons for?”
“It is the only way to defeat SIN.”
“What is SIN?”
“I will tell you once you become a member of SeeD. Now go wait in my room until they ask all SeeD candidates to the second floor ok?”
“Alright but you better tell me or else.”
“Or else what?”
“You will see.” (You make me have all this tension and you will help me release it.) Tidus smirked. But Squall took no notice of it.
“Whatever.”
As Squall went to see Cid Tidus started to Squall’s room. When he got there he remember he forgot Squall’s password. (Shit how could I forget it. Oh maybe it is…) Tidus typed in 74482 in the keypad and the door opedned. (Ha I knew it had to do something with Shiva!) Tidus stepped in and sat down on Squall’s couch. He was about to dose off when someone came over the intercom.
“I need all SeeD candidates to report to the second floor classroom immediately. I repeat I need all SeeD candidates to report to the second floor classroom immediately.” The female voice said.
“Alright alright I heard you the first time.”
Tidus made it to the second floor classroom just as they were calling out who had made it.
“And the only person to make the cut is Tidus Spardus.” Said the man Tidus did not know. At the mention of Tidus’ name everyone gasps.
“Didn’t he just get here three days ago from Spira?” A girl asked.
“I heard Squall was helping him study while he was in Besaid on a mission.” A boy said.
“That is quite enough about me thank you very much.” Tidus said almost shouting it.
“I am standing right here in front of all of you. Please don’t talk about me like that.” Tidus pouted.
“Ok now just because noone else made it through the filed test and Mr. Spardus…” The guy started.
“Please call me Tidus. I don’t like my last name.” Tidus pouted again.
“Ok then just because Tidus was the only one who did. Does not give any of you the right to be mean to him. He is new and needs to be treated nicely.”
“Ok, we are sorry.” The class said together.
“Ok now that we got that out of the way, Tidus come with me please.”
“Ok”
When they got out of the classroom and in the elevator Tidus said “I never got your name.”
“It is Nida.”
“Thank you for your help back in the classroom.”
“No Problem.”
Cid told Tidus his rank and what his salary was going to be in SeeD. After Cid was done Tidus went back to Squall’s dorm.
“You know Squall you can be very quiet at times.”(But very sexy at the same time.)
Tidus thought.
Squall was not listening though. He qas watching Tidus change into his SeeD uniform for the SeeD Ball. Squall decided to go change before he jumps Tidus.
------------------------------------------At the Ball----------------------------------------------------
“I still can’t believe my SeeD rank is 25.” Tidus said.
“I know that is the highest it has been in the history of the school.” Squall said.
“Let’s go this Ball is always boring.”
“I can tell noone is dancing.”
“Let’s go spend the night in my room what do you say?”
“Sure it beats being here.” (That way I can get you to myself.)
As they got to the room Tidus stops and Squall turns around and looks at Tidus.
“What is it?”
“Oh nothing just thinking.”
“What are you thinking about?”
(Just that you have a nice arse.) “Nothing in particular.”
“Whatever.”
As Squall opens the door Tidus asks “Squall are you with somebody right now?”
“What do you mean Tidus?”
“Are you …. Ya know ….. seeing anyone?”
“No ….. why do you ask?”
“Ummm….. I….. I….”
“Yea?”
“I think I am ….. in ……”
“You think you are in what?”
(I think I am in love with you. Come on say it.)”love with you Squall.”
“You do?”
“I don’t know why. I have never felt this way for another guy before till now. All I can think about is you…. And Yuna.”
Squall steps closer to Tidus and says “Lets go inside and continue this in there.”
“Ok”
As Tidus shuts the door Squall plants a chaste kiss on Tidus’ lips.
“hmmm” Is all that Tidus can say.
Squall breaks the kiss and says “You know Yuna can never find out bout this?”
“Yea I know.” Is all that tidus could say in his daze.
“Lets go to bed we have to get up early tomorrow to met Yuna.”
“Yea.”
