I do not own Final Fantasy! Trust me, if I did Crisis Core would have been pure yaoi! Also, I make no money from this fic.
What not to do.
‘I’ll kill him… I’ll get him back, I’ll punish him, then I’ll kill him.’ Those were the only thoughts to go through Sephiroth’s head. He stormed through the thick woods that surrounded his house. If he was going to keep Cloud as his pet, he had to make sure he lived away from civilization, so if Cloud escaped he wouldn’t know how to get back to Midgar. It was a good plan… Until he realised half an hour ago, Cloud was missing. The front door was wide open and his pet had escaped. Now he realised how many places Cloud could hide in while living in the centre of a think wood such as this. Next time, if there was one, he would locate them in a desert or something. At least it would make it harder for Cloud to hide. Damn… Where the hell was that little bitch? Where the hell could he have gone anyway!?

“So… What happened to you?” Came a small voice from Cloud’s direction as he watched Zack claw his way out of the crater,
“Huh? What D’ya mean?” Came his confused response. “I woke up. Here…”
“But you… Died…”
“Yeah… I know.” Zack offered his hand down to the blonde, leaning down as far over the side of the crater as he could manage without falling in.
“So… What happened? Did you just wake up here or were you alive all along?” The blonde snapped that last part, if Zack had been alive all this time, especially after all the trauma with ShinRa and Aerith…
“No. I just… Woke up here.” Zack shrugged, pulling Cloud out of the hole once his offered hand was taken. “But you’re one to ask questions. Why the hell were you out here?”
“I just… was okay?” Cloud hugged himself. He couldn’t tell Zack what he had been reduced to in the space of a year. It would kill him if he had to explain everything that Sephiroth had done to break him down to such an emotional wreck. “It’s not important anyway…”
“Cloud… You were out in the middle of the woods in the middle of nowhere. And you were just randomly there were you?” Zack raised a brow in disbelief, the blonde’s behaviour was proof enough to say he was hiding something, and he was determined to find out what he had missed… But not now. Now was a time he should enjoy, he was with his best friend. He was ALIVE Damnit! “But uh Cloud…?”
“What?”
“You know what’s amazed me?”
“…Go on…?”
“You still have the same hair style. Couldn’t you have like… changed it a little?” Zack teased, playing with one of the blonde spikes. He loved how soft they were. Cloud and he had never told anyone how they trained their hair to stand up like that, Reno the supposed had figured it out. But they still wouldn’t tell.
“…You’re kidding. You’ve been dead… You’re back from the dead! And you’ve been thinking about my hair!?”
“No, no! It’s just… I thought you would have gotten a new favourite animal by now.”
“Huh? What are you talking about now?”
“Nothin’, Chocobo ~” Zack smirked at the face Cloud pulled at the pet name, he had always hated it… But in his opinion anything was better than being called ‘cute’. Gods that was horrible. Everyone, back when he was a cadet, had mentioned at least once that he was cute. He wasn’t! He was training to be a First Class SOLDIER! Someone to be respected! Not goddamn cute!
“Don’t call me that! You know full well it annoys me, pup.” Cloud couldn’t help it… That smile that forced itself to creep onto Cloud’s lips… ‘Pup’ was Zack’s worst nickname. Luckily Zack only had that one nickname as far as Cloud knew.
“Whatever, cutie pie.”
“Hey! You know I hate that!”
“You know I hate ‘pup’.”
“You started it!” Cloud folded his arms, the smile creeping off of his mouth just as quick as it had come on.
“You called me a Zombie!”
“When?” Cloud squeaked, Zack wasn’t a zombie. He was just… There, when he shouldn’t be. Zombies ate people’s flesh and stuff… He hated those things. He lay back, looking at the sky it looked so good. He remembered when Zack had decided to take him out to see a zombie movie, he had hid in Zack’s jacket for most of the movie and Zack had teased him about it ever since. “I didn’t call you a zombie… And you know that.”
“You said I was dead, that’s more or less the same thing, right?”
“Wrong ~”
“You’re gonna keep arguing with me aren’t ya?”
Cloud shrugged. “Probably.”
“Fine, I’ll have to get dirty…” Zack smirked, leaning over Cloud.
“Dirty?” Cloud blinked, staring up at his raven haired supposed-to-be-dead friend. “And that would mean… What exactly?” he added, watching his closely.
Zack leaned down further to nibble at Cloud’s neck, at all the places he knew for a fact were sensitive to the blonde. “Ah! Zack!” Cloud whined, pushing against Zack’s chest. “Please don’t!”
“Huh…?” Zack blinked, stopping his actions upon the blonde. “What’s up?”
“…Just please… Don’t do that.” Cloud snapped, pulling his t-shirt up at the top to hide the bite marks left by Sephiroth.
“…Cloud… What happened to you these past years? Why am I here?”
[ O: Sorry this is so late! Better late than never though! 8D;; I’m sorry my chapters are so short, but I’m trying my best to write them as long as possible at three in the morning. You may be happy to know that I am planning on having Sephiroth find Cloud and Zack. But what happens is on the DL. ;D I’ll update ASAP!”
