Singer Sephirena
***
Tseng sighed, it had been almost sixteen years since his wife had died, and it still hurt him. He hadn’t found another like her, not that he was looking. He couldn’t, by his customs, have another wife or girlfriend after she died.
Everything reminded Tseng of Sephirena, even Reno’s smirk reminded him of her.
Tseng was always bringing flowers to his wife’s grave, mainly under the cover of darkness.
That night, he was scared.
Sephirena had been buried at the bottom of a hill, and to get to her grave, and his joint tombstone, he had to climb down the hill.
When he crested the hill that cool, crisp night, his eyes met something wrong.
A beautiful silver haired woman sitting on his wife’s grave.
Tseng froze in time, he stared at the woman, thinking he saw a ghost. He dropped the flowers and moved quickly back to the Turks dorm.
***
Sephirena, after years of living in Mideel, before moving to Wutai, had grown tired of not knowing where her husband was buried, still thinking he was dead. She returned to Midgar and was determined to find where he was.
She had walked into the cemetery late that night, not thinking that anyone else would be there.
She found the grave and kneeled down upon it and read the inscription in the tombstone, “‘Sephirena Valentine Wulong... loving wife, sadly missed by loving husband.’” Sephirena froze in time, no... if Tseng was dead, then nobody should have known her last name. She set her head on her own tomb and sighed.
It was about then that she didn’t happen to see the scared Wutan walking up behind her, before he turned and ran.
Sephirena looked at her grave, then touched the part that was joined to it, a double tombstone, for a married couple. She slowly and quietly read the inscription there, “Tseng Wulong... born... but no death date.” She thought.
She had been honorable through the time of her husbands ‘death’ and had not even looked at another human.
He’s got to be alive, she thought, and she had to find her husband.
***
Elena Clarke, the newest female Turk, sat in her office listening to her C.D. player.
“Elena, can you turn it down?” Tseng said, standing in her doorway.
“But I like Sephirena.”
That name threw him off guard, it had been almost fifteen years since he had heard that name. “What did you say?”
“Tseng, I am listening to Sephirena, a rock musician... hang on, if you want to listen to a song, she sings one in Wutanese...” Elena went over to her C.D. player and hit number four.
The music began, then the voice that he hadn’t heard in so long began to sing.
“kokoro no naka no JIORAMA no machi wa
kibou no hikari de kirameite iru
kagerou no hane de habataita yume wa

After the song, Tseng walked into the office, “Wow... do you have the case for that C.D.?”
“Yeah, and I also have her DVD, she makes good music videos too. The one for that song you just listened too is awesome. She’s singing on a beach and on Daoi Cho statue, and at the end, she jumps off.”
“Can I borrow them both then?” Tseng asked his young female Turk as the song continued in the instrumentals before it ended.
“Sure, Tseng... what is she singing anyways?”
“I lost my true love... something like that.” Tseng said, knowing the words, and knowing who she was singing of. “Does she sing any other songs?”
“Yeah.” Elena hit the second song, “She sings a lot of rock and ballads, that one is the only foreign song she sings. I like the tune.” Elena then went over to her desk and got out the DVD for her boss, “Just return it, okay? It’s expensive.”
“No problem...”
“Oh, and Tseng?”
“Yeah?”
“Could you tell me what symbol she writes in the sand at the beginning of that video?”
“I’ll try...” With that, Tseng left to go to his office.
***
The music video started, with Sephirena sitting on the beach, looking out into the golden water as the sun set. She was singing, and her voice was amazing. The same song he had heard earlier. And as Elena said, she wrote a Wutan symbol name in the sand as she began to sing. The symbol name was... Tseng.
“kokoro no naka no JIORAMA no machi wa
kibou no hikari de kirameite iru
kagerou no hane de habataita yume wa
kimi to boku to no sagashimono
shinjitsu wa itsumo
hitomi ni hisonde iru aoku”
The scene flipped from Sephirena laying on the beach to her standing on the statue in Wutai, standing on the out stretched arms, singing her heart out to the sea.
“bokura wa doko made yukou
futari no mirai ima sasuratte
bokura wa tabi o tsuzukeru
eien no arika owari nai yume
kono te o hanasazu oikakete ikitai
zutto”
The scene flipped back to Sephirena, dressed in jeans and a tee shirt, laying on the sand, the surf behind her.
“TAAKOIZU iro no kokoro no umi de
hikari no fune no aizu ga kikoeru
hayaku ikanakya hayaru omoi ni
nani mo kotoba wa iranai ne
itsuwari wa itsumo
kotoba ni hisonde iru amaku”
By now, Tseng was amazed. The scene flipped back to the statue, where Sephirena wore a half open blue jacket top with a purple camisole thing underneath it. Her voice was amazing.
“futari de hitotsu ni narou
okubyou na nami no ho mo dakishimete
bokura wa tabi o tsuzukeru
dakiau sukima
owari nai yume
niji o tsukinuketa
yakusoku no hikari o mezasu”
The scene flashed back to the beach near Wutai, the small dot on her face noticeable. She sat up in the sand during an instrumental and laughed, then, it flashed back to the statue.
“bokura wa doko made yukou
futari no mirai ima sasuratte
bokura wa tabi o tsuzukeru
eien no arika owari nai yume
kono te o hanasazu oikakete ikitai
zutto...”
And at the very end, she did, she jumped off of the statue. More like fell, with arms out, backwards off the statue.

“TICKETS FOR SEPHIRENA????” Elena screeched, happily jumping up and down, it was almost a week later, from the time that Tseng had discovered Sephirena. Tseng still didn’t know if this was his wife or a clone or whatnot, but his heart told him it was her.
“Yeah, all the Turks are going.” Tseng said dryly, “A vacation.”
“Damn, do you see the body on this woman Rude?” Reno said, holding up a magazine with a periodical about the bombshell singer that was making a trip to Midgar in a special concert.
Rude didn’t say anything, which was typical for him. He just hid behind those glasses.
“Tseng, do you know how hard it was for you to get these? These things are expensive...” Elena said.
“I am aware... besides, they are backstage passes.” Tseng saw Elena’s face.
Elena hugged Tseng so tightly it almost killed him.
“I can get you to meet her too,” Tseng said.
“REALLY?” Elena said, excited.
“Yeah, I got us backstage passes...” Tseng nodded.
Elena hugged Tseng, “THANK YOU!”
Tseng smiled, “We are going to the concert three days from now.”
***
Reno sighed and walked to his favorite bar, he wore his normal crinkled, wrinkled and just plain horrible looking Turk uniform. He walked up to the bar and ordered his usual, what the bartender had then called a ‘Reno Special.’
Reno sat at the bar and waited for the tender to mix his drink, while he looked around.
The darkly clad woman sat on the other side of the bar, hidden in shadows, she turned her aquamarine eyes towards him, the glowing orbs seen in the dark.
Reno looked up and caught the eyes, and was both scared and intrigued.
“A Turk...” Sephirena said.
“Yes, I am... what’s it to you...” Reno said, taking his drink and walking over to the voice, “May I sit?”
“Yes, please sit...” Her face came in view and Reno took a step back.
“You’re Sephirena...”
“Yes, I am... but don’t scream... I have enough fans.” Sephirena sipped at her vodka, enjoying the feeling that the liquid made as it burned down her throat.
“I wasn’t going to... a fellow Turk loves your music.” Reno said, sipping at his concoction of a drink.
“Good... and sit, Turk.”
“My name is Reno.” Reno said as he sat.
“Nice to meet you Reno, I am Sephirena...” She smirked at him.
“You are a famous singer, what are you doing in a bar like this?” Reno said.
“Reminiscing mainly.”
“Really, what are you drinking tonight?” Reno said, reaching, even Rude would be amazed if he could bed this bombshell who had taken the world by storm.
“Reno, I am not interested in a one night stand, I am looking for someone who works for Shin-Ra, and maybe you could help me.”
Reno was all ears, “I know a bunch of names, I work with a lot of people.”
“Well... He’s been in Shin-Ra for a long time, so he may be older...”
Reno stared at the twenty one year old, or at least, she LOOKED twenty one, she was really much, much older. “Who is it? Father? Family friend?”
“Husband...” Sephirena sighed.
“Husband???” Reno said, shocked.
“Yes, but I doubt he remembers me...” Sephirena sighed.
“What’s his name, maybe I know him...” Reno said, finishing off his drink.
“Tseng Wulong.”
“TSENG?!?” Reno looked shock, “He’s my...my boss!”
