Note: I've been changing the dialogue writing. Thanks to the reviewer that pointed it to me. =) Hope you like it.
Chapter 7: Waiting
Reno dialed Lorelai's cell phone number from the public phone. "Steel." he smiled, he could just see her face in his mind. "Hey babe it's me." he said, playing with the telephone cord. "Hey so how is it going?" he could hear by tone of her voice she wasn't feeling well. "As bad as it could. Are how you doing?" he secretly hoped she would say she doing fine and that her brother woke up and that little birds were happily singing outside lalalala... but he knew he wasn't going to hear that answer. "I'm feeling crappy, Zack didn't wake up yet." Bam, a voice in his head said 'told you'. "And the baby?" the Turk was hoping at least the baby was doing fine. "He's doing fine, I'm going for an ultrasound tomorow." He felt his heart twinch, he wouldn't be there. He wouldn't see HIS child. "I'll try to get back tonigth." Maybe if he'd ask Tseng was going to let him go. 'Yah right' "It's nothing, Elena's coming with me, I'll get you the tape." The soon-to-be-mother was lying, he could hear it. Rude came towards him and told him he'd better go. "Look honey, I've got to leave. I love you babe." He felt bad to hang up but it's not like he had a choice. "Love you too, bye." He hung up, having a horrible feeling.
She stared at her phone for a minute, feeling like crap. Reno had been gone for a week now. Getting the same urge her twin always got when something was going wrong she took her bike keys and left the Healin Lodge. She meet Elena in the parking lot. "Are you okay?" asked the blonde turk. "I'm just going for a ride." Elena raised a fine blonde eyebrow. "Don't go to fast." The dark haired Turk tried to smile. "Yes mom." The older Turk watched her friend ride off with a strange feeling.

Lorelai always loved motorcycles, little Zack would take her everywhere on his. As she felt the tears come up she increased the speed. She knew it was dangerous but even if she didn't want to get the baby hurt she didn't give a damn about the risks all she wanted was to clear up her mind. She took all the little streets in Midgar, she knew the city pretty well. With their father in the ShinRa scientific departement they've always lived in Midgar and as curious as the twins were they learned all the places where they could hide. She took the highway and rode to the beach, there was an old building where she always went when she was feeling bad. The Turk stopped the bike and gazed at he raising sun.

"How is she doing?" asked Rude when Reno got back to him. "Bad, Zachary's didn't wake up yet." Tseng threw the compagny's car keys at him. "Get back before tomorow nigth or I'll track you down. Understand?" The red-haired turk smiled, got in the car and left in a hurry.

Tears were streaming from her eyes, she felt like shit, and alone. Really alone. Her lover was gone and her twin may be on his death bed. She started yelling "WHAT DID I DO WRONG? Sleep with a redhair jerk? Become a turk? WHERE DID I MISS IT !?"

In the car Reno dialed the mother of his child's number. The voice that answered him wasn't the one he was expected to hear. "Hello." Elena he tougth. "Hi Elena, where's Lorelai?" He heard her sigh. "She's gone for a ride." A red ligth started flashing in his head. "...fuck." he cursed. "Where are you?" He looked around, he was on the Midgar hihgway. "I'm on the higway." He hung up, driving where he knew he would find his love.

Being a twin is a wonderfull gift and a terrible curse. It's a gift because you always have someone to play with when you're a kid, you always someone you can count on for anything. But it's a curse when somehing happends to them. She started to fell that hole inside of her, like she'd lost half of her soul. She knew Zack wasn't dead, that she should still have hope, but to see her other half, the usually folling around, full of joy, full of life SOLDIER lying on a fucking hospital bed with tubes everywhere, was to much to handle. She hadn't sleept for the last week, everytime she closed her eyes she had flashback. The party when Zack got his SOLDIER certificate, the one when she got promoted, the phones calls, the bike rides as kids... everything just made her fell, empty.

When Reno finally arrived at Midgar he headed for the only place he was sure to find his friend. From distance he saw the motorcycle, after he saw her, lying there in a sort of ball. He stopped the car and walked up to her. She wasn't moving, bad thing. As he came closer he saw the blood on the ground, and lots of it. A flashing red ligth lit up in his mind, she had tried to kill herself. He ran the few meters that were still keeping them apart and took her in his arms. On her left wrist was a long, deep, still bleeding cut. The turk ripped a long piece of his shirt, wrapped tigthly her wound, picked her up, got back in the car and drove off to ShinRa's intensive care unit.
