Divine

Authors Note: I’m writing a fanfiction. I’m writing a fanfiction, lalalala. Sorry, time to be professional. Hehe, or not. K, this is my first story so it may not be good but I shall love it anyway. But let me know what you think so I can improve, k? It’s gonna be short cause I’m gonna let the reviewers decide something. That’s what prologues are for though, right?

Disclaimer: Don’t own em. I don’t even have a copy of the game. It’s broken *tear*

Warnings: Yaoi y’all. Heavy yaoi at that. That means guys with guys. If you don’t like it, don’t read, it’s easier for us both :D. Angst and maybe some non-con later on. Depends on if I can talk myself into writing it. Kind OOC. It’s an AU so their past is gonna be different, therefore their gonna act a little different. Hopefully not too bad though.

Daylight sauntered into the room, the rays finding their way over to the bed where the still sleeping teen lay. Around him, lay his various books; some opened, some closed, all obviously used. Through out the room, his things lay in similar disarray, though for a teenaged boy living by himself, it was to be expected.

When the sun finally reached his eyes, he grumbled, rolling over, but it was too late. He was awake. Turning back around, he opened his eyes, revealing an intense mixture of blue and grey. Raising up, he looked down at his clothes, which he’d fallen asleep wearing. He’d had a lot of homework to do and he must have fallen asleep only shortly after finishing.

Before he had time to full wake up, he heard a knock on his door, soft but insistent. When he didn’t immediately answer, it came again, this time only slightly harder but lasting even longer. “Wakey wakey Squall!” a voice called from the other side of the door.

Knowing he couldn’t possible ignore his visitor, even if he’d wanted to, he got out of bed, running a hand through his silky brown tresses, though it did no good. The rebellious stands only feel back down to frame his face. Without a word, he walked to the door and opened it.

”Oh good! Your awake. Come on, slow poke. Zell’s waiting for us in the cafeteria. We’re hunnnnnggrrrrryyyyyy,” the small girl said, practically bouncing into the room.

“Good morning to you too Selphie,” he muttered, his eyes still hooded from sleep. He wasn’t a morning person but even if he had been, he wouldn’t have had the energy to keep up with his friend. No one could.

“Morning Squall.” Taking his head, she started trying to pull him out the door, only to receive a glare. “Awww… don’t be that way. Come on!” She then proceeded to pout.

“I’ll meet you there,” he answered, turning his back to her. A shower would wake him up and then he could start his day.

Quickly loosing her pout, she rebounded. She knew Squall was immune to “The Pout” but she always tried anyway. “K, we’ll save you a seat. See you there.” With a flash, she was gone, leaving Squall alone to close the door behind her.

Shaking his head, Squall went to his bathroom and went about his daily ritual before taking off his clothes and getting in the shower. Setting the water to warm, he stepped inside, instantly enjoying the feel of water running over his tired muscles. Leaning back his head, he allowed water to run over his hair, framing it to his face, the long locks contrasting with the pale skin. As the water flowed over his slim but well-toned body, he kept his mind blank. He had a full day of school ahead of him and he knew there’d be plenty of time for that later.

After washing, he finally got out, using a towel to dry himself off before discarding it in t he laundry basket.. He lived alone and knew he wouldn’t be seen.

Getting dressed didn’t take long as he pulled out a long sleeved black shirt with a grey dragon-typed creature imprinted on it and a pair of low slung jeans. After putting on his shoes and getting his books, he headed out the door, ready for the day.

True to their word, Zell and Selphie were sitting at a table, saving a place for him. Zell had his plate crammed with food while Selphie sported only a bowl of cereal.

On first sight, the two looked completely different, their small height being the only thing they shared. Selphie, her hair brown and her eyes green, was only slightly shorter than the blond haired, blue eyed Zell. It had been a running gag through high school that Squall only hung out with them so as not to be the shortest one in the group.

Nothing, however, could be further from the truth. Though they were both energetic while Squall was quiet and withdrawn, they had openly accepted him, sticking by him always. That had bonded them closer than blood could ever have.

Walking over, he took a seat, not bothering to get any food. His mind may have been awake but his stomach would sleep till lunch time.

“I’m telling you Selphie. He likes you.” Apparently Squall had walked in a conversation about Irvine. “Hey Squall.” Nodding good morning, he let the two get back to their discussion.

“How do you know he likes me?” she asked, seemingly not caring but both of her friends caught the hopeful look in her eye. She’d harbored a crush on the long haired man since she met him.

“I’m a man. I know these things.”

“If my answer depends on how much a man you are, I want a second opinion,” Selphie said, sticking her tongue out playfully.

“Hey. I’m plenty man.”

And so the two went out, arguing playfully. The blond had always been easy to rile up and it seemed Selphie found endless joy in picking on him. Yep, a day like any other.
